The National Testing Agency (NTA) has rescheduled the UGC NET exam to be conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode from August 21 to September 4, 2024. Originally planned as a pen-and-paper exam on June 18, 2024, it was canceled.
Candidates can soon expect their exam city details and should download their UGC NET Admit Card 2024 from the official website by logging in with their application credentials.
UGC NET 2024 Exam Format
Paper I: The first paper of UGC NET 2024 is a 100-mark examination with 50 questions. It assesses teaching and research aptitude, testing candidates on reasoning, comprehension, and general awareness.
Paper II: The second paper is a 200-mark examination with 100 questions, focusing on the chosen subject. This paper evaluates candidates’ knowledge in their specific field of expertise.
Exam Mode: UGC NET 2024 will be conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode, where both papers are administered consecutively without breaks.
Languages: Candidates have the option to choose between English and Hindi for most papers, except for language-specific subjects.
Marking Scheme: Correct answers in both papers are awarded +2 marks, with no negative marking for incorrect responses. Unanswered questions or those marked for review do not incur any penalties.
