The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is accepting online applications for the recruitment of 8326 Multi Tasking Staff (MTS) and Havaldar (CBIC & CBN) for the 2024 examination. Eligible and interested Indian citizens, both male and female, can apply online through the SSC’s official website, ssc.nic.in, from June 27, 2024, until the application deadline on July 31, 2024.

SSC MTS Vacancy 2024
Tentative vacancies for the posts are as under:
i. Multi-Tasking Staff (Non-Technical) – 4887
ii. Havaldar in CBIC and CBN – 3439
Educational Qualification:
The candidates must have passed the Matriculation Examination (10th) or equivalent from a recognized Board as on or before the cut-off date i.e. 01-08-2024.
Age Limit:
The age limits for the posts as per the Recruitment Rules of various User Departments are:
i. 18 to 25 years (i.e. candidates born not before 02.08.1999 and not later than 01.08.2006) for MTS.
ii. 18 to 27 years (i.e. candidates born not before 02.08.1997 and not later than 01.08.2006) for Havaldar in CBIC and CBN, Department of Revenue, and a few posts of MTS in various departments.
Permissible relaxation in the Upper age limit for different categories is as under:
- SC/ST – 5 years
- OBC – 3 years
- PwBD (Unreserved) – 10 years
- PwBD (OBC) – 13 years
- PwBD (SC/ST) – 15 years
Salary Details:
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) outlines the salary structure for SSC Multitasking Staff and Havaldar posts in its official notification. According to the 7th Pay Commission, the gross SSC MTS salary ranges from Rs.18,000 to 22,000/- per month. After deductions, the net salary varies from Rs.16,915 to 20,245/-, depending on the city.
How to Apply
Applications must be submitted in online mode at the website of the Commission i.e. ssc.nic.in.
Application Fee:
Fee payable: Rs.100/- (Rupees one hundred only).
Women candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Persons with Disabilities (PwBD), and Ex-servicemen (ESM) eligible for reservation are exempted from payment of fee.
Selection Process:
For the post of MTS, the examination will consist of a Computer Based Examination (CBE), and for the post of Havaldar, the examination will consist of CBE and Physical Efficiency Test (PET)/Physical Standard Test (PST).
