Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) invites applications from eligible candidates for 29 posts of Regional Director, Assistant Secretary, Joint Secretary, Deputy Secretary & Others. The vacancies for the mentioned posts will be filled on a deputation basis. Eligible and interested candidates may apply online only through the official website of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).

Central Board of Secondary Education Recruitment 2024 Post Details

The eligibility and pay scale required for CBSE recruitment is detailed below.

(1) Regional Director

• Eligibility: (a) Officers of Central Government/State Government/UT Administration/Autonomous Bodies/Autonomous Educational Institutions of Central/State Government/UT Administrations:-

  (i) regularly hold similar posts;
  or
  (ii) with 3 years regular service in Pay Level-13 of 7th CPC (₹8700/- with GP of PB 4 of ₹37400-67000)
  or
  (iii) with 8 years regular service in Pay Level-12 of 7th CPC (PB 3 of ₹15600-39100 with GP of ₹7600/-)
  and
  (b) At least 03 years experience at the Senior Level.

• Pay Scale: Rs. 37400-67000/-

(2) Joint Secretary

• Eligibility: (a) Officers of Central Government/State Government/UT Administrations/Autonomous Bodies/Centre/State Governments/Autonomous Educational Institutions of UT Administrations:-

  (i) Holding similar posts.
  or
  (ii) with at least 05 years of regular service in Pay Level-12 of 7th CPC (PB-3 Scale of Rs. 15600-39100/- + Grade Pay of Rs. 7600/-) or equivalent
  or
  (iii) With at least 10 years of regular service in Pay Level-11 of 7th CPC (PB-3 Scale of Rs. 15600-39100/- + Grade Pay of Rs. 6600/-) or equivalent
  AND
  Conducting Public Examinations/Examination Policy Planning/School Boards/General Administration including the functioning of Administration/Accounts/Courts/Legal and Vigilance Matters.

• Pay Scale: Rs. 37400-67000/-

(3) Assistant Secretary (Media Relations)

• Eligibility: a) Officers of Central/State/Semi Govt or Autonomous Organisations.
  (i) hold similar posts;
  or
  (ii) with 02 years of service in Public Relations on the scale of Rs.9300-34800 + Rs.4600/- or equivalent pay.
  or
  (iii) 03 years experience in Public Relations in Rs.9300-34800+ Rs.4200/- equivalent pay scale.

b) Post Graduate Degree preferably in Mass Communication/English/Sociology/Psychology/Public Administration from any recognized University.

• Pay Scale: Rs. 15600-39100/-

(4) Assistant Secretary (Vigilance)

• Eligibility: i) Should have a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university.
  ii) Should have not less than 3 years’ experience.
• Pay Scale: Rs. 15600-39100/-

(5) Under Secretary (Official Language)

• Eligibility: i) Master’s Degree from a recognized University.
  ii) 03 years experience.
• Pay Scale: Rs. 15600-39100/-

(6) Deputy Secretary (Academics)

• Eligibility i) Post Graduate Degree from a recognized University/ Institute.
  ii) B.Ed degree from a recognized University/Institute.
  iii) NET/SLET or equivalent or Doctorate Degree.
  iv) 03 years experience.
• Pay Scale: Rs. 15600-39100/-

(7) Under Secretary (Academics)

• Eligibility i) Post Graduate Degree from a recognized University/ Institute.
  ii) B.Ed degree from a recognized University/Institute.
  iii) NET/SLET or equivalent or Doctorate Degree.
  iv) 03 years experience.
• Pay Scale: Rs. 15600-39100/-

(8) Assistant Secretary (Academics)

• Eligibility i) Post Graduate Degree from a recognized University/ Institute.
  ii) 03 years experience.
• Pay Scale: Rs. 15600-39100/-

Age Limit: The upper age limit is 56 years.

CBSE Selection Process 2024

CBSE Recruitment 2024 details of the selection process for the above posts are given below:

• Interview (online or offline mode)

Shortlisted candidates are required to submit all documents and NOC related to qualification and experience from the parent department at the time of the interview. These documents will be verified at the time of the interview.

Candidates have to apply online only through the https://www.cbse.gov.in website.

Only an “ONLINE” application will be accepted and no other form of application will be accepted.
